On Monday, 18 August 2008, UEM Land initiated its inaugural Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) workshop series for the teachers of its PINTAR schools. The series were part of UEM and’s CSR flagship initiative, “ICT Knowledge & Appreciation Programme” which was conducted earlier for the PINTAR schools’ students.
PINTAR Teachers’ ICT Knowledge and Appreciation Program was launched in collaboration with Johor Bahru Education Office, Johor Educational Technology Division and the respective PINTAR school heads. Specifically designed for teachers, it is aimed to further empower them to become more competent and proficient in ICT, ultimately enabling them to assist their students in developing IT skills.

Selected teachers were given the opportunity to participate in the workshop which commenced from 18th of August 2008. The two-day workshop comprised some 60 teachers who were exclusively trained by certified ICT instructors with basic and intermediate aspects of ICT knowledge, eg. Microsoft Office–Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and e–Application.

UEM Land believes the community of Gelang Patah will achieve more by becoming a knowledge-based community as well as being in line with the Government’s efforts to encourage ICT application. |
