It was a meaningful event as 30 families in Kampung Tebing Runtuh received a new surau from UEM Land Holdings Berhad. The newly built facility was officiated by Tuan Haji A. Rahman Jaffar, Director of Johor Religious Department (JAJ).

The building was constructed in July 2008 and was completed last December at a cost of RM600,000.00. With a build up area of 195m2, the facility can easily accommodate about 150 jemaah inside and 240 jemaah at the open courtyard.
Some 150 people, comprising Kampung Tebing Runtuh villagers, JAJ representatives and UEM Land’s personnel attended the event. A signing ceremony between UEM Land and JAJ marked the surau official hand-over. This was later followed by a plaque signing to officiate the facility by Tn. Hj. A. Rahman Jaffar. The guests later performed Dhuha prayer as a sign of gratitude.

In his speech, En Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim said that the facility would serve as a one stop Islamic resource centre for the villagers to further strengthen their Islamic education as well as enhance their spiritual values and moral practices.
