12 Dec 09 – UEM Land on Saturday launched its Nusajaya Green Master Plan that will make Nusajaya, the regional city, a sustainable and environment-friendly development. The Master Plan identifies environmental issues concerning development and includes educational elements for the community.

The objective of this initiative is to differentiate Nusajaya from other developments as well as to build our reputation as an environment-responsible developer. This environmental master plan was produced with the collaboration of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) following the grant agreement worth RM230,000 signed last year.

In another collaboration with UKM, UEM Land and UKM will embark on a Green School Programme to educate students to be sensitive to environmental issues. Three of UEM Land’s PINTAR Schools have been selected to participate in this pilot programme.

Johor State International Trade, Industry, Energy, Water, Communication and Environment EXCO , YB Tan Kok Hong together with Gelang Patah Member of Parliament, YB Tan Ah Eng, and Johor DOE director, Dr Zulkifli Abdul Rahman, witnessed the planting of 1,000 mangrove seedlings by Gelang Patah RAS members at the Sungai Pulai Ramsar site.
