Nusajaya, 16 January 2010: It was not just an educational experience for 40 secondary students who attended the Microchip Controller Project workshop today, but it was also an avenue where they revealed their hidden talents in innovative technology.

The Microchip Controller Project, a project sponsored by UEM Group and organized by UEM Land in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was part of an on-going effort to develop innovative minds in technology as well as promoting a sustainable ICT community to benefit the Malaysian community and industry at large. The first workshop was organized in December 2009.
During the two-day workshop, the 40 selected students from SMK Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar and SMK Taman Nusa Jaya participated in the brainstorming session where they shared their interests and ideas.

The students were divided into groups and each group was assigned an advisor who is a UKM lecturer and a mentor, comprised of UKM undergraduates whose responsibility was to guide the students to come out with their own innovative ideas for their project of building a prototype.
The project is expected to continue until July 2010, culminating in the ICT Carnival where the students will also be receiving their certificates of completion
