UEM Land is committed to reducing our carbon foot-print by looking at our waste, emissions and environmental risks. UEM Land’s committment to the environment is manifested through the strategic management of water, energy, waste management, and environment conservation, as outlined in the Nusajaya Green Plan, which was launched in December 2009.

The Nusajaya Green Plan summarises data and information to facilitate in identifying environmental issues concerning the development of Nusajaya, which will differentiate Nusajaya from other cities and developments. It is a reflection of our commitment in building an environmentally responsible City, which balances economic, social and environment considerations, where we hope to positively contribute towards the global effort in addressing the challenges of climate change.

It subscribes to the philosophy of integrated prevention and improvement, encapsulated in the concept of ROSE (Reduce, Offset, Substitute, Enhance).

Apart from that, UEM Land is also the sponsor of a coffee table book entitled, Bio-Diversity of Sg Pulai Ramsar Site Johor, published by UKM. The book is a valuable guide to the rich flora and fauna biodiversity of the Sungai Pulai mangrove forest in the Ramsar site of South Johor. It is aimed at promoting public awareness and appreciation of the intrinsic value and functional significance of the mangrove forest; its importance in the ecosystem and the importance of environmental conservation for the benefit of the future.

UEM Land’s commitment to the environment is also evident in the network of green open spaces that has been planned in Nusajaya with the 650-acre Regional Park, located on the hilliest terrain of Nusajaya, being the largest. Together with the Ramsar site at Sg Pulai, which is adjoining Nusajaya and equal in size to it, they form the “green lung” of South-west Johor.
