NUSAJAYA, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 - UEM Land Holdings Berhad, the master developer of Nusajaya, today officially handed over the new police station in Anjung, Nusajaya to the Royal Malaysian Police.
The police station was built in line with the Nusajaya Safety & Security Master Plan which was unveiled by UEM Land in April 2008 and the Nusajaya Bandar Selamat program which was launched by the Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM), in collaboration with Iskandar Regional Development Authority and Iskandar Investment Berhad in July last year.
Nusajaya Bandar Selamat program models Nusajaya as a Safe City, at the same time promoting awareness on the importance of safety and security to the public. Through the comprehensive practice of safety & security operations based on world’s best practice and standards, it will create a conducive environment that will enhance the quality of life, and the development of economic, social and cultural activities within the Nusajaya community. The establishment of the Anjung Police Station is one of the planned initiatives in the management aspect of the Nusajaya Safety & Security Master Plan.
“As a responsible developer, UEM Land has built in safety & security in all its projects in Nusajaya starting from the application of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles into the design, to optimal deployment of technology and management; to ensure high safety and security for residents and visitors, who choose to live, work and play in Nusajaya,” Zulkifli Tahmali, Project Director, Nusajaya, UEM Land Holdings Berhad said during the handing over ceremony of the police station to PDRM.
Accepting the police station on behalf of PDRM was Johor Police Chief Dato’ Mohd Mokhtar Haji Mohd Shariff.
