JOHOR BAHRU, Sunday, April 25th 2010 - UEM Land Holdings Berhad, the master developer of Nusajaya, the key driver of Iskandar Malaysia, is proud to announce that its Nusa Idaman interchange, which was built and fully funded by UEM Land at a cost of RM15 million is officially opened to the public today.
The dual carriageway is strategically located within the fast developing corridor leading to Kota Iskandar and Nusajaya via Perling and Second Link Highway, and will benefit 2,500 residences around the vicinity. This interchange is expected to further boost the demand for the 250 acres Nusa Idaman community development.
Convoy of more than 30 classic Mini Coopers were flagged off during the commemoration of this significant event. The interchange which was initiated in November 2007 and completed in early December last year, symbolized another significant and strategic infrastructure project undertaken by UEM Land for Nusa Idaman homebuyers and investors.
Nusa Idaman, a hillside suburb provides an eco-friendly lifestyle as well as convenience of being situated amidst the signature developments of Nusajaya and ready infrastructure for easy accessibility and high-quality living. The Interchange will certainly enhance the connectivity for the residents of this township and it will cut 5 to 10 minutes of travel time for motorists to Nusa Idaman.
Additionally, it provides an easy access to other public amenities that are available in the neighbourhoods i.e. Afiat Healthpark, Columbia Asia Hospital, schools and shopping complexes such as Jusco Bukit Indah, Giant Nusa Bestari and Tesco Bukit Indah.
In-conjunction with the opening ceremony, a few exciting activities were organized for the public, including a Mini Cooper contest, Strut & Show Contest and Go Kart Race. 100 Touch ‘n Go cards were given away to the first 100 lucky drivers who passed through the interchange.
The Mini Cooper contest received more than 30 participations and the contest was judged based on two categories; the best interior and the best exterior looks of wheels. Mr Amos Tan and Mr. Darren Yap Soon Tai were announced as the winner for the best interior and the best exterior respectively. Each winner took home RM 250, a trophy, and a certificate.
